Heavy Duty Mechanic - Part Time
Location: Carlyle, Saskatchewan
Canadian Hydrovac Ltd. is growing and has an immediate opening for an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our expanding team. Part-time position, competitive wages.
We specialize in serving the oil, gas, construction and utility industry in western Canada, boasting a modern fleet consisting of over 50 units. Assist with troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
Diagnose equipment problems and determine repairs needed at the discretion of senior mechanics
Adjust and repair or replace defective parts
Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work as required
Inspect and maintain the fleet in accordance with the National Safety Code
Assist in completion of daily work orders
Perform shop housekeeping and general duties in a safe manner while following procedures to ensure job specifications are met
Communicate to Management an unsafe working condition that are observed
Actively participate in all safety meetings
Assist in maintaining inventory control over equipment and shop supplies
Help ensure maintenance and repair logs are up to date
Perform related duties as assigned by the Fleet Manager
Represent Canadian Hydrovac to the best of your abilities
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic
Flexible work schedule to accommodate production needs
Must be able to supply your own set of hand tools to perform basic repairs
Physical requirements of this position include the ability to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally must work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to and over 25 pounds
Driver license with clean driver's abstract. Class 1 or 3 would be preferred
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team and safety focused environment
Must have own transportation, willing to work out of town and in all seasons
Must complete a mandatory pre-employment Health & Fitness Assessment
Energetic, confident self-starters, with a strong work ethic
Physical ability to perform work
Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test pre-employment and post incident (or be in compliance with our drug and alcohol program)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
